Yao Experience Trek 2 Days / 1 Night-Trekking in Muang Sing

Start-Finish: Muang Sing Phou Iu Travel and Ecotourism Office or Phou Iu Bungalows
Duration: 2 days / 1 night
Departure: 9:00 am Daily
Difficulty: Moderate, short hill climbs and descents walks up and down of hills

Trip Overview
The tour will takes you to the Nam Ha NPA (Nam Ha National Protected Area), a lot of bird seeing and birds calling, waterfall, overnight in the lodge at Yao village, enjoy Yao massage, Yao tradition and culture show and you will also visit other ethnic groups as Akha and Tai Lue in different villages.

Itinerary
Day 1: Nam Ha NPA-Ban Sai Leck (Yao Village). Approx. 5-6 hours
Start from our office by Tuk Tuk direct to the south of Nam Ha NPA, where elephant’s habitat area, the trail takes trekkers up to the mountain passes old growth forest, primary bamboo forest and wild banana forest to visit waterfall, on the mountain you can see many level views of Nam Ha NPA, and learn about them.

Have lunch on the trail, after lunch excursion from the waterfall pass old forest, agricultural fields and visit Ban Sai Leck (Yao village) where we overnight for today.

While waiting for dinner visit the villages walk around and meet the people, learn about traditional Yao architecture and you will receive Yao show as: sing a song, dance and other show their tradition and culture. After dinner you will get free massage which is given traditionally to the guests staying overnight in the village.

Day 2: Ban Sai Leck-Muang Sing Town. Approx. 4-5 hours
After breakfast at the lodge with local food host by the guide, we start walking visit two Yao villages Ban Jong Kha and Ban Nam Mai the villages of handicraft and trek though agricultural fields visit other ethnic groups with different villages and the final get the Tuk Tuk back to Muang Sing Town.

  • Covered transport  with an experienced certified driver
  • Overnight’s village accommodation: Traditional Minority house  with outside toilet & shower facilities
  • Sleeping bags, foam mats and mosquito nets are supplied.
  • Meals-Lunch x 2, Dinner x 1, Breakfast x1
  • Water
  • Trekking permit and Provincial Tax on Net Income
You may like to carry some local currency (Lao Kip) because you will have the opportunity to purchase local handicraft from the villagers.
